WHAT TO DO IF YOU SEE BLISTER OR SORES ON YOUR GENITALS… DON’T PANIC HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO !

Vaginal blisters are not a pleasant topic for most women, but it’s important to know that they are just blisters and you shouldn’t be ashamed talking about them.

Who has them?

All women are at risk of vaginal blisters – you don’t have to be sexually active or unclean, you just have to be female. They are mostly caused by friction, ingrown hairs or clogged sweat glands.

What do they look like?

The STD and non-STD blisters don’t look the same. The ordinary vaginal blister is like any other blister – circular or ovular in shape and filled with blood or fluid. They can be clear colored or red and dark in the center. They shouldn’t have a border and they shouldn’t itch or smell.

Do they hurt?

No, although they can be a bit painful to the touch. If you have a vaginal blister on the inner labia, you may not notice it until your wipe yourself after peeing. Generally, vaginal blisters are not painful if you don’t touch them.

How do you treat vaginal blisters?

The best treatment for vaginal blisters is a hot bath. Some people recommend a sitz bath, but we don’t see them as necessary. Soaking with hot water will rupture the blisters naturally and help the body heal on its own. You shouldn’t rupture them yourself as you can expose your body to the risk of infections.

How long do they last?

Vaginal blisters usually last for a week, except in rare cases when the body can’t heal on its own.
