This Drink Will Destroy Your Bones From The Inside But Everyone Drinks It
Did you know that 25% of all drinks sold in the U.S are soft drinks?
It is now common knowledge that in the year 2000, 15 billion gallons of soda was consumed by Americans. This means that an average American consumes approximately about a 12-ounce can daily and this is regardless of age or gender.
The dangers of sodas to your health include.
Soda Promote Osteoporosis
In a study conducted in 2006 by the Framingham Osteoporosis of the bone mineral density (BMD) in 1413 women and 1125 men it was revealed that frequent consumption of Cola soda which comprises of caffeine and phosphoric acid led to a decrease in the BMD of the hips of the female test subjects as they were more prone to bone loss than the male test subjects.
It is believed that the reason why this is so is because of the high amounts of phosphorous in the drink.
This stops the absorption of calcium by the body which is needed for strong teeth and bones. Researchers even believe that the phosphoric acid in your regular Cola soda causes calcium to be expunged out of the bones.
In another study it was also discovered that the consumption of about four cups of caffeinated coffee which has about 330 mg of caffeine can lead to bone loss. Researchers believe that the caffeine inhibits the full absorption of calcium by the body and that this leads to a loss of calcium through urine when you urinate.
Osteoporosis and other diseases caused by poor absorption of calcium by the body like Crohn’s disease should make you want to stop drinking sodas which inhibit calcium absorption.
