WARNING: IF YOUR CHILD IS USING THIS SIPPY CUP, THROW IT AWAY IMMEDIATELY!
There’s no doubt that most parents give all they got to provide and protect their children the best they can. However, in a world that is so rapidly expanding their job becomes harder with each day, as new obstacles and dangers continue appearing.
One such danger became known to the internet community after the story of two mothers, Penny Powell and Marie L’Hostie, who found something in the lids of their kids’ sipper cups, was published on Distractify. The story gathered massive attention and raised the alarms of parents around the globe, who started checking sipper cups and reporting their findings.
One mother shared a picture on Facebook with the following caption underneath it:
“Warning to Parents! If you have a sippy cup like this, throw it away FAST! I had a friend whose son was continuously getting sick. After she accidentally broke the anti-spill top of his Tommee Tippee, she was shocked to find mold inside. The anti-spill couldn’t be washed and inspected unless it is broken. She tried contacting customer care, but they only ignored her problem”
This is only one of a number of cases of mold being found in sipper cups. Another parent, who had a similar experience, had the following to say on Facebook:
“Be very cautious when using sipper cups that can’t be easily cleaned. If you still decide to use them, make sure you throw them in the garbage after a short time. Anti-spill tops cannot be machine washed, or manually washed. If you don’t believe me, get a used sipper cup and break off the anti-spill top. If you find mold, join our cause and share your story, so we can raise more awareness.
A representative from Tomee Tippee responded to the concerned parents by sharing specialized instructions on cleaning the cups, however, most parent’s were not convinced, as they believe that they can never be entirely cleaned.
That’s why you should take caution when buying a sipper cup, because it might get your child sick.
