Silent Killers: Around 100,000 People Die Each Year In Their Homes From These Toxic Products
Scented candles, fresheners for room, sprays and other products who are used for freshening the air in our homes are toxic, the newest researches confirm this statement. They are some kind of silent killers and are responsible for the deaths of at least 100,000 people each year.
Researchers in the UK found out that many products which are used in household, including insect sprays, deodorants and cleaning products, contain chemicals known as organic compounds (VOC) and can cause cancer especially among children and elders.
Carcinogenic compounds in homes
There have been studies for the way of how the VOC in solid or liquid condition, evaporates and pollutes the air in your home. The higher level of these compounds is known as limonene can become cancerous formaldehyde if they are mixed with other elements and they can be found in many products for the household. The researchers from the Royall College of Physicians, Royall Collage of Pediatrics and Child Health of London warn the public that the people are unwittingly exposed to danger. Their conclusion is that pollution of indoor air causes death in 99, 000 cases yearly.
Large impact on chronic diseases
Air pollution has great impact on many chronic diseases and can be noticed as guilty in the increase of heart and brain attacks, it has negative effect on the fetal development and the development of the lungs. Researches warn that the governments should introduce strict regulations for discharging minimal quantities of harmful gases in the air. There should exist strict laws that will prohibit the existence of contaminated streets near schools.
Dangerous gas leak
Leakage and evaporation of gas that comes from the installation causes damage to the fetus, the development of the lungs and kidneys, increases the rate of heart attacks and strokes, causes asthma, diabetes, dementia and cancer. The evaporation of this kind of hazardous chemicals can be broadcast from fabrics, adhesives and insulation, defective water heater and some appliances in the kitchen.
For the internal pollution contributes the additional insulation and reduced ventilation which is placed due to smaller heating bills.
