The quince is the autumn vitamin bomb, and its medicinal properties have long been known and used in folk medicine, primarily as a means to relieve cough and soothe stomach pains.

This beneficial fruit, which originated in southwest Asia, has medicinal parts, such as leaves, seeds, and especially the juice and syrup from the fruit.

The fruit of quince is rich in vitamins and minerals, most of vitamin C, B1, B2, niacin, carotene, calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper, sodium, zinc, iron, manganese, sodium, chlorine and sulfur. In addition, it contains protein, dietary fiber and carbohydrates.

The seeds are its most healing part, and when soaked in water, they release mucus that helps with cough. The seeds contain a large amount of amygdalin, or vitamin B17, which has anti-cancer activity and they are rich in fat, tannin, pectin, sugar, malic acid, and emulzin protid.

Due to the tannin and mucus, the quince has a beneficial effect on the work of the intestine, and prevents development of infectious disease. Furthermore, the fruit contains a lot of pectin, which favorably affects the blood system, helps reduce blood pressure and provides protection from radiation.

Quince juice cures cough, asthma and diarrhea, and baked or boiled fruit is recommended to treat the lining of the throat, tonsils, airways and to relieve abundant menstruation.

The tea of quince seed cures insomnia, relieves tension and removes bad breath, while mucus from the seeds heals burns and wounds. The tea of quince leaves is an excellent natural remedy for preventing diarrhea.

Tea of the fruit: This tea miraculously affects the airways, soothes coughs and relieves symptoms of bronchitis.

Preparation: Wash and cut the fruit into four parts. Remove the seeds and the hard part from them, cut the rest into thin slices and place it in a liter of water, so that it doesn’t discolor. Boil on low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, and then leave it to cool. Afterwards, strain it and drink it throughout the day.

Syrup for bronchitis: You can do this folk remedy against cough and respiratory infections very simple, only from a few seeds.

Preparation: Crumble five quince seeds and pour them with 100 ml of water. When you create a dense mucosal table, add 15 grams of fresh juice of plantain and 100 g of honey sage. Take one teaspoon three times a day before meals.

Gastric juice: you can also eliminate digestion problems with quince juice.

Preparation: Wash a kilo of quince and grate them, then strain them.  Drink the fresh juice immediately because it oxidizes. It is best to drink it before meals.

Good for burns: the salve prepared from melon seeds can be of great help to treat moderate burns and wounds.

Preparation: Crumble 10 seeds of quince, pour them with 200 ml of water and wait for the mucus to be created. Apply this on the burnt body part, directly or as a coating.
