THE WORST FOOD IN THE MORNING: SIX MISTAKES IN YOUR BREAKFAST!
We can freely say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and a requirement for a good start to the day. The correct and well-balanced breakfast can contribute to improved results of doing your daily tasks.
The ideal breakfast is consisted of ingredients rich in protein and fiber that give us energy for the start of the working day.
Breakfast is highly important and can improve your health, but the problem arises when we chose caloric “bombs” or ingredients full of sugar and fats that have the opposite of the desired effect.
1. We wait too long before we have breakfast
If you eat the first meal even after several hours of getting up or when your stomach’s growling reminds you, the chance of eating a caloric “bomb” is very possible. This is why you need to be careful and do not eat breakfast once you are starved.
2. We avoid proteins
If we eat the first meal of the day standing and out of the house, creamy coffee and some muffins are a very common choice. It is a fine combination for the eyes and stomach which unfortunately lacks many proteins. Studies have shown that breakfast based on the amount of protein balances blood sugar and reduces sudden hunger pangs. Try to start the day with a hard-boiled egg and an apple or yogurt in which you have added chia seeds.
3. We consume the wrong fats
Even though our body needs fat, we certainly must not exaggerate with them, especially when it comes to saturated fatty acids such as bacon and butter. So it is better to choose a little Greek yogurt with chopped nuts.
4. We exaggerate with juices
The latest research has shown that people who drink a lot of juices have higher blood pressure than those who do it occasionally. Fruit juice can be a great source of vitamins and minerals, but not an alternative to the consumption of an actual fruit. An average orange has about 60 calories, while a cup of orange juice has almost twice as much. Also, the juice lacks nutritional fiber, which abounds in natural fruit.
5. We add artificial sweeteners
Artificial sweeteners may disrupt the balance of bacteria in the stomach resulting in an increased need for fructose in order to feel satisfied. Drink coffee without any sweeteners, but with the addition of spices like cinnamon which will boost the metabolism.
6. We eat heavy meals
The food we consume in large quantities burdens the organism and slows metabolism. So always choose meals that are composed of a balanced ratio of proteins and carbohydrates that give us enough energy to start the working day.
